LINPAC Packaging, Europe’s leading multi-material packaging manufacturer, has announced two new appointments to support its move into the prepared and chilled food packaging sector and the launch of its Freshform business.

Rajesh Tandon and Amy Bates have joined the company as new business development managers and will be responsible for looking after customers across the prepared and chilled food sector including processors, packers and retailers.

Their appointments coincide with a recent investment by LINPAC Packaging in new thermoforming capacity for the fast turnaround and flexible supply of new designs for the prepared foods market in the UK.

Rajesh Tandon, who has more than five years packaging experience, joins LINPAC Packaging from Greiner Packaging International where he was business development manager. A graduate from the University of Northumbria at Newcastle, Rajesh has also worked for Benson Group as Sainsbury’s relationship manager.

Amy Bates, a graduate of Leeds University, joins LINPAC Packaging from Kobush UK (formerly Pregis) where she was key account manager in France.

LINPAC Packaging Managing Director in the UK, Graeme Robinson, said: “Having assessed the potential for the chilled and prepared food sector we regard it as a key opportunity for LINPAC Packaging and we have built a team to support our new service offering, Freshform, which has been created to respond to changes in consumer eating and meal preparation habits.

“Rajesh and Amy will play a key role in ensuring that LINPAC Packaging delivers the best packaging solution for this fast-growing, food sector in retailers across the UK and Europe.”

Adam Barnett, Vice President Sales, said: “Consumers are demanding a wider choice of prepared and chilled food from retailers and at LINPAC Packaging, we are leading the packaging industry in new developments which address these demands. Our products not only improve protective qualities, increase shelf life and enhance presentation, but also have a much lower carbon footprint at every stage of their life cycle.”
