LINPAC Packaging has been invited on to the Roll of Honour of Cogent - the sector skills council for the process industries.

The invitation is an acknowledgement of the food packaging company’s commitment to developing world-class skills and reaching a ‘Gold Standard’ in key competencies including business improvement, technical, compliance, behavioural and functional.

Chris Wright, LINPAC Packaging’s Operations Manager, said: “This is a testament to all the hard work our colleagues have put into the business to ensure that we have the best skills available to ensure that we deliver the best service possible to our customers.”

Cogent is the sector skills council (SSC) for the Chemicals, Pharmaceuticals, Nuclear, Oil and Gas, Petroleum and Polymer Industries. It is licensed by Government to help employers in these science-using industries to address their workforce development needs so that they can compete successfully.

The SSC has worked with the National Skills Academy to develop the Gold Standard framework which sets a benchmark for world class performance and ensures employees’ skills are being developed to an industry standard, leading to enhanced productivity, effectiveness and competitiveness.
