Europe’s leading multi-material packaging manufacturer, LINPAC Packaging, has announced further major expansion in Germany on the day it has unveiled in public for the first time a ground-breaking super lightweight mono-material tray for meat and poultry.
FachPack 2012 in Nuremburg Germany (LINPAC Packaging is on Stand 635, Hall 9), from September 25-27, is the official worldwide launch-pad for the world’s most advanced plastics food tray, the Rfresh® Elite range of rPET tray that will further help grow market share in Germany for the global company.
Over the past two years LINPAC Packaging has invested €6 million in new plant and equipment at its German sites at Ritterhude, Bremen, and Beeskow in Brandenberg. A further €3million will be spent on PET extrusion and automation facilities at Ritterhude in the next 12 months.
René Normann Christensen, Managing Director of LINPAC Packaging’s North West Europe Region, said: “Our major investment will continue in the coming year and reinforces our strong commitment and strategy going forward in an important market. This, together with the launch of the Rfresh® Elite range of rPET trays, will help us reach our target of doubling our market-share that currently stands at around 20% in Germany.
“And we are further improving customer focus and product ranges across complete market sectors to complement our innovative product range from trays and films to disposable tableware. It’s a further demonstration of our fresh thinking approach. We see the Rfresh Elite product range driving the change from PP to PET as has been seen in other markets in Europe.”
With over 40 years of experience in food packaging safety and security, LINPAC Packaging is a trusted brand in its sector. Its turnover generated from the two sites in Germany is €100 million, with more than 200 staff are employed across the two sites. Globally, LINPAC Packaging has 28 sites, including 16 plants, serving 37 countries.
Alex Baruschke, Sales Manager for DACH, said: “The new Rfresh Elite product range demonstrates just how fresh thinking is at the heart of our company. The German market is extremely important and our aim is to grow the business and create new jobs, which is being helped by the development of innovative and novel packaging solutions for our customers. We are constantly making increasingly important inroads in product, material and manufacturing innovations. These are translating into products which not only improve protective qualities, increase shelf life and enhance presentation, but also have a much lower carbon footprint at every stage of their life cycle.”
