LINPAC Pontivy celebrated its 34th year this year. From the reels of flexible film for food packaging found in households around the world to giant rolls of MAP lidding film weighing more than 1000kg each and destined for conversion to modified atmosphere pack applications, LINPAC have food all wrapped up!
From its site in Pontivy, Brittany LINPAC Packaging has been a market leader in the manufacture of flexible food packaging films. First starting in 1980 with the manufacture of PVC stretch films the business has steadily grown and developed to include flexible packaging films for every application in food packing, retailing, converting and catering.
Producing flexible packaging films for a wide variety of fresh foods, including meat, poultry, fish, cheese as well as fruit and breads, more than 75% of the film made on site is exported around the globe. Such is the expertise and willingness to deliver on customer requirements, in 2004 the scientists at Pontivy produced a special vanilla scented printed film for one American customer!
This determination to exceed its customers’ expectations has seen the Pontivy facility become LINPAC Packaging’s European centre of excellence for the production of food packaging film. Recent investments have included a seven-layer film extrusion line to produce sophisticated MAP lidding films, shrink lidding films and form, fill, seal films and further significant investment is in the pipeline for 2015 to ensure Pontivy stay at the forefront of flexible film development.
