Fresh thinking on the environment…
For more than 40 years LINPAC Packaging has lead the packaging industry in implementing stringent environmental policy and we continue to deliver a worldwide programme of environmental projects.
We look at all parts of our business to ensure our environmental footprint is as green as can be by reducing our CO2 emissions, reducing the use of energy and water, the re-use of materials where appropriate and recycling all materials possible in a bid to ultimately create a closed loop packaging process.
Our success with environmental and energy efficiency projects is down to the commitment of our teams across the business. We invest a lot of time and effort in communicating our policy and codes of conduct through internal HSHE audits and through the introduction of LINcare - a new customer relationship programme – this results in teams passionate about making a difference.
LINPAC Packaging is also passionate about supporting its local environment and works alongside its communities to address issues. A great example of this is at LINPAC Packaging’s Pravia site which also manages a fish farm. This generates jobs for people within the region and replenishes the dwindling fish stocks in the local rivers. The site is responsible for putting more than two million trout and two million salmon back into rivers each year.
Our aim is to continue to develop and implement a robust environmental policy throughout our business, creating a greater understanding about environmental concerns amongst our workforce and continuing to support our local communities.
We aim to put in place targets that will grow year-on-year and will ultimately position the company as the most environmentally aware packaging organisation in the UK and throughout Europe.
